Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon Hydrotherapy Benefits

Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe and very effective method of cleansing the colon  “the large intestine” of accumulated wastes and toxins without the use of drugs through natural peristalsis. Dating back to early Egypt, this deep cleansing permits other organs of elimination “skin, lungs,  liver and kidneys” to operate more effectively, which provides detoxification of the cells throughout the body with improved nutrient absorption.

Benefits reported include:

  • Better elimination
  • Stress reduction
  • Assimilation of foods

Additional benefits may include the improvement or relief of:

  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Arthritis
  • Bad breath
  • Skin problems
  • Headaches
  • Depression
  • Allergies
  • Abdominal discomfort
  • Bloating

Timing is important and relative to how and why to use colonics.  They may be used to prepare an individual for surgery, a change in lifestyle, or a meditative retreat. As well, they may offer relief and an opportunity to heal from a period of toxic accumulations from stress, overeating, drug abuse, or lethargy.

Neglecting or abusing the colon “the body’s sewage system”  results in distribution of the poisons of decay, fermentation and putrefaction to tissues throughout the body.

Degenerative diseases, caused largely by the build up of toxins in the body, are killing more people and affecting younger and younger people. These illnesses were comparatively rare in earlier days before mineral depletion of our soils, and widespread use of pesticides, hormones, additives and irradiation in our foods.

The process is simple, comfortable and is not painful. Purified water is introduced into the colon via a disposable tip. Light abdominal self-palpation dislodges toxic wastes, mucus and fecal encrustation.

Colonics are most effective when done in series and close proximity (ideally 2-3 times per week for a short duration, though once per week also works well). The number in a series is individually assessed on information gathered during the first few visits.

Fundamental Approach to Colon Hydrotherapy

    1. A quick fix to an urgent problem (e.g. severe constipation or prep for surgery or a colonoscopy): 1-3 colonics over a 1-2 week period.

    2. A long term tool for sustainable change: 8-14 colonics on average over a 2-6 month period.

    3. Seasonal Cleansing for preventative maintenance and enhancement: 1-3 colonics per season.

A colon hydrotherapy session cleans the entire five feet of colon, unlike an enema which cleanses only the sigmoid colon, the lower 8-12 inches of the  bowel.  This helps to reestablish normal bowel movements by restoring muscle tone and normal peristalsis.

By cleaning the colon, the body is then able to better release toxins and assimilate nutrients from foods.
